His functional pottery concentrates on simple, reserved forms fired in his newly completed wood kiln to produce rich, natural surfaces. Intending his work to be used, McCarthy is focusing this spring on tableware and will be one of our featured "Dish" makers this summer in the Dish & Dine series that pairs local food with local artists presented on locally made dishes.
